An early concern was that 17 goals were too much for people and that, as a result, the SDGs would not be more widely recognized. [When? ] Without broader recognition, the momentum needed to achieve it by 2030 would not be achieved. British filmmaker Richard Curtis created project Everyone in 2015 with the aim of bringing goals to everyone on the planet. [96] [97] [98] Curtis turned to Swedish designer Jakob Trollb├Ąck, who renamed it The Global Goals and designed the 17 iconic visuals with clear names and a logo for the entire initiative. The communication system is available free of charge. [99] In 2018, Jakob Trollb├Ąck and his company (The New Division) extended the communication system to the 169 objectives that describe how to achieve the objectives. [100] Although the goals are broad and interdependent, the SDGs became two years later (6). A UN resolution adopted by the General Assembly has made it “more applicable”. The resolution identifies specific targets for each goal, as well as indicators used to measure progress towards each goal. [3] The year in which the target is to be achieved is generally between 2020 and 2030. [4] No deadline is indicated for some of the objectives.

Implementation of the SDGs began worldwide in 2016. This process can also be called “SDG localization”. Individuals, universities, governments, institutions and organizations of all kinds work separately, but one or more goals at the same time. [72] Governments need to transpose the objectives into their national legislation, develop an action plan and establish their own budget. At the same time, however, they must be open to partners and actively seek partners. .
